Ongoing is an ongoing trading process. The rule is to have one dwelling object to trade for one graphic work by (Scene Peng) who enjoys producing one-piece-of-paper work which is usually in copies of 50. Value is a non-economic notion and immaterial force which shapes the way we live together. Today, however, we seem to measure value only in terms of time and money. How can value be measured and communicated differently? By displaying an archive of selected objects from the trade with individuals, Ongoing aims to rethink value by building a trade system with less material judgement.The first trade took place in November, 2019. Scene received around 50 objects from London, Netherlands and China. They were displayed in room K204 at Central Saint Martins. Participants of the first trade were invited to collect the print on that day.
